Vanishing Triptych
She gets absorbed into the abstract chaos of the Hidden Corners. She feels as though pieces of her are lifting and she sees them floating away.
Artist’s Insight
This triptych came out of my emotional experience being wheeled out on a gurney to the ambulance, being taken to the life-flight. I felt frozen. There was nothing I could do to protect my son. The writing was on the wall. He was coming.
I felt as though I was vanishing.
These pieces are examples of the erasure technique that I referenced earlier. I made marks and rubbings with charcoal, and then erased out most of the shapes you see here.
